Lesson 1: Understanding Phishing Attacks

The common tactics used by attackers in phishing attacks are to create a sense of urgency, such as when a message is labeled as time-sensitive or critical. The message may also contain a deceptive offer or incentive to encourage the reader to click a link without examining it closely. Lastly, the attacker may attempt to impersonate someone in a position of authority, such as a supervisor or manager in the organization, as a way of providing credibility.

It is important to remember that phishing attacks can take many different forms and may have many different targets. It is essential to remain vigilant and to be aware of the potential for cyber threats. It is also essential to remember that if something does not seem right, it is better to pause, take a moment, and investigate further before taking action.
